DSM Construction is a Dallas-based remodeling and custom home contractor specializing in large-scale renovations, home additions, and custom residential construction.
Founded in 2009, DSM Construction was built on a simple but unwavering belief: the best projects are driven by honesty, thoughtful planning, and exceptional craftsmanship. Our work is defined not only by the homes we build, but by the relationships we create. Today, the majority of our projects come from referrals and repeat clients—a reflection of the trust our clients place in us.
We take a hands-on approach to every project, with active on-site management and clear communication throughout the process. Construction can be complex and unpredictable, but our role is to guide our clients with confidence, transparency, and solutions—so they feel supported from start to finish.
DSM Construction is proud to be a member of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) and is committed to upholding the organization’s Code of Ethics. We believe professionalism and integrity are essential not only to our company, but to the remodeling industry as a whole.
Over the years, we have refined our approach to focus on design-build project delivery and early collaboration. Whether we are leading the design process or working alongside architects and designers, our goal is the same: to align scope, budget, and expectations before construction begins. This planning-first mindset reduces stress, protects our clients’ investment, and leads to better outcomes.
At DSM Construction, we don’t aim to simply build beautiful homes—we aim to be trusted partners in a long and complex renovation or custom home journey.
The Team
David Marcus - Owner
Certified Remodeler
David founded DSM Construction in 2009 after earning a degree in environmental design with a focus on construction, architecture, and city planning. His passion for remodeling began early, when he first experienced hands-on construction work as a teenager.
From the beginning, David’s vision for DSM Construction was clear: deliver high-quality craftsmanship, maintain transparency, and operate with uncompromising integrity. He has worked in every phase of construction and brings both technical expertise and real-world experience to every project. It is not uncommon to find him on job sites, actively involved in the work and decision-making process.
In addition to running DSM Construction, David has managed complex construction projects, including multi-million-dollar medical facilities. Outside of work, he enjoys traveling with his wife Kelsey, spending time with their two children, working on cars, and enjoying life on the water.
Steve Mercer, Certified Lead Carpenter - Superintendent and Master Craftsman
Steve oversees carpentry and field operations at DSM Construction, including framing, trim, cabinetry, doors, and job site supervision. He works closely with subcontractors and inspectors to ensure that every project meets DSM’s standards for quality and precision.
With hands-on experience in nearly every trade, Steve brings a deep understanding of construction to each project. His background includes running his own company and serving as a superintendent on large-scale construction projects.
Outside of work, Steve enjoys spending time with his family and appreciating a great burger.
Jose Perez
Jose has been an integral part of DSM Construction since 2020. Known for his strong work ethic and eagerness to learn, he plays a key role in maintaining DSM’s high standards on job sites and supporting daily operations.
He enjoys spending time with his family and following boxing in his free time.
Frankie Elbanna - Office Manager
Frankie has been part of the DSM story long before the company officially began. Today, she serves as DSM Construction’s Office Manager, overseeing critical aspects of the business, including operations, communication, and marketing.
Her attention to detail and commitment to excellence help ensure that DSM Construction delivers a seamless and professional experience for every client. Outside of work, Frankie enjoys spending time with her family and their dogs.
